Client background

A specific business.
A specific challenge.

A UK banking startup wanted to explore an Asian audience before committing to a larger rollout. The product supported UK company formation and account opening, but the team needed to understand which customer needs would create interest in Hong Kong and Singapore.

The question was more specific than how to attract clicks: which audiences had a relevant reason to open a UK account, and which messages would encourage them to submit an application? I developed distinct social campaigns around local use cases, with Google Ads supporting the demand test.

A practical plan.
Focused delivery.

Three audience hypotheses, each with a different reason to consider a UK account. Explore the campaign thinking behind each.

SMEs

Test business-focused messages for small and medium-sized enterprises considering UK expansion. The campaign proposition connected account opening with the practical context of establishing and operating a UK business.

What changed

Finding the right audience.

The campaigns generated application submissions and gave the founder practical market feedback to assess the product concept and inform the next stage of testing. Testing distinct audiences and messages helped make the response more useful than a single undifferentiated traffic total.

About these results

Meta Ads reach covers Hong Kong and Singapore. Google Ads clicks are shown separately by market and are supporting engagement measures, not application totals. Additional recorded Hong Kong Google Ads figures were 170,000+ impressions and £0.06 cost per click; reported social cost per click was £0.20–£0.40. Application submissions were confirmed by the client without detailed conversion figures.

Data sources. Meta Ads Manager for reach and social advertising costs. Google Ads for clicks, impressions and cost per click. Application submissions and product-testing context provided by the client.
